They have since moved on and started their own business, finishing high quality bespoke furniture and antiques from their workshop in Charlwood. From talking and listening to their clients, who have found it difficult to find quality handmade furniture, Andy and Mike are offering, through a team of experienced, qualified, local craftsmen, a complete service. Using solid timbers, traditional or contemporary, classic or modern designs, they are able to offer fully fitted or free standing individual pieces from wardrobes to bookcases, alcove units to radiator covers, office, study or entertainment centres. They will design and produce hard to find pieces for difficult spaces. Solid and traditional in construction, sympathetically finished by hand in oils, waxes or lacquers, as appropriate, down to the finer details of solid brass hinges and fittings.All their individual pieces are hand built to order using traditional cabinet making techniques, and can be made from a variety of timbers with a choice of finish. Colour matching to existing pieces is an often-used service. Their speciality is detail, whether it is the choice of hardwood or the fit of a dovetail joint, the colour and dimensions or the rich shine of the polish. The kind of quality, commonplace many years ago, so hard to find, in this day and age.
